Seven feet tall and a little narrower, it’s dense and rounded, withthick, glossy, elliptic leavessomewhat more tongue-shaped than those ofViburnumtinus. In fall and winter, the leaves, probably with more sun exposure, will achieve an attractive reddish cast, and new stems in spring will be reddish also, in lovely contrast to new, lighter green leaves. Use as a hedge or screen, or a needed evergreen in a mix of deciduous shrubs. This is a tolerant, good-looking, and easy plant.
