Lemon verbena is a hardy herbaceous perennial plant with narrowly lance-shaped, strongly lemon-scented leaves and it’s widely used for food flavouring. It grows up to 1.5 – 2.5m in height and up to 1.5 – 2.5m in spread and thrives best in sheltered full sun south or east facing position in well drained fertile neutral soil. Open panicles of tiny white or pale lilac flowers emerge in summer.
When grown in containers we recommend a good quality multipurpose compost is used. Plants should be fed during the growing season with a liquid feed as per the manufacturers instructions.
