Variegated maranta exhibit spashes of white variegation as well as larger sectors and every leaf will be different.
Ideal for Intermediate plant keepers or beyond.
Light Requirements: Medium light is ideal but grows well in bright indirect light and tolerant of low light conditions. Plants in too bright light will develop small spots on their leaves and may become dull.
Moisture & Soil Requirements: Prefers evenly moist soil with good drainage in warm seasons – never soggy soil.
Growth & Nutrients: Clumping growth, up to 20cm.Suits apartments or homes of any size. Flowers in early summer with small lilac & white blooms. Feed with a general-purpose fertiliser for containers from the start of spring each year to autumn when growth slows down.
Temperature, Humidity & Ambient requirements: Prefers warm, humid environments inside. Humidity is essential in successfully growingMaranta. In winter these may die back or slow their growth down completely. Move to a brighter position to maintain the plant if it is in a low light area.
