Thyme Doone Valley is a hardy evergreen herbaceous perennial plant with tiny leaves in dark green with yellow splashes and it’s widely used for teas and food flavouring. It grows up to 10cm in height and up to 10 – 50cm in spread and thrives best in sheltered full sun south or west facing position in well drained fertile neutral soil. Spikes of borne heads of lavender-pink opening from red buds flowers emerge in June and is bees and butterflies friendly.
When grown in containers we recommend a good quality multipurpose compost is used. Plants should be fed during the growing season with a liquid feed as per the manufacturers instructions.
