Used as a medicinal/culinary herb. Sometimes called Mexican Mint, Aztec Marigold, or cempaschil. Tarragon like flavor with hints of anise, leaves were an important flavoring of the Aztec drink chocolatl. When happy, blooms frequently with cheery yellow flowers. Pruning-tolerant, cut back regularly for bushy growth and fresh new leaves. Burn as incense/insect repellent. Perennial. Full sun, loves water but is drought tolerant, pest resistant, cold hardy.
