French tarragon is a hardy herbaceous perennial plant with narrowly lance-shaped, aromatic leaves and it’s widely used for food flavouring. It grows up to 0.5 – 1m in height and up to 0.1 – 0.5m in spread and thrives best in sheltered south or west facing position in well drained fertile neutral soil. Small, nodding, pale yellow flowerheads emerge in late summer.
When grown in containers we recommend a good quality multipurpose compost is used. Plants should be fed during the growing season with a liquid feed as per the manufacturers instructions.
