The swiss cheese plant was an icon of the 1970s houseplant boom, and has experienced a surge in popularity in recent years. It is easy to maintain, requiring bright indirect light and to be watered only when dry. To promote large leaves with fenestrations (splits and holes), provide a moss pole or climbing support.
