Alpine strawberry is a hardy herbaceous spreading perennial forming rosettes of 3-palmate leaves, bright green leaves with toothed leaflets and berries widely used for consumption. It grows up to 10-50cm in height and up to 50-90cm in spread and thrives best in sheltered sunny south or east facing position in moist but well drained fertile neutral soil. Spikes of small white colour flowers emerges in spring following by red 1cm long berries in the summer.

When grown in containers we recommend a good quality multipurpose compost is used. Plants should be fed during the growing season with a liquid feed as per the manufacturers instructions.
