Schizostylis is a South African Iris relative from the banks of streams. The cultivar, ‘Torero’ has intense, scarlet, wide-open, 1-inch star-shaped flowers late summer to mid-autumn on one-sided spikes. It will do wonderfully in your garden if watered regularly to convince it that it is comfortably back home.
