Sagina subulata is a moss-like plant with tufts of tiny, slender stems that grow together to form a lush carpet of green. Profuse tiny, white, fragrant flowers bloom in late spring. Also called Irish Moss, it is nice between stepping stones, in containers, or used as a ground cover in small areas. A perennial, Sagina subulata is usually evergreen and will naturalize in its favored conditions, self-sowing readily.

Sagina subulata prefers bright shade and moist soil. It must have ample moisture to grow in the sun. Irish Moss may become summer dormant in hot, humid areas. It can withstand heavy foot traffic. Space on 12″ centers.
