The ‘Blood Red’ variant of Rotala rotundifolia is the most vividly red-coloured among its kind. Its striking red hue is especially enhanced when positioned next to light green plants.

This aquarium plant is easy to cultivate and can flourish in relatively low light and nutrient conditions. However, to achieve its deepest coloration, abundant light and supplemental CO2 are essential.

The plant grows upright with a slightly arching form, producing numerous branches. Regular trimming is required to maintain optimal light penetration and water flow among the stems.
