Often referred to as the Firethorn this is a compact, thorny evergreen shrub with narrow glossy leaves, clusters of white flowers followed by bright orange berries. Can be grown as a free standing shrub or up a wall. Best grown in sun of partial shade in a moist yet well drained soil.

• When planting this shrub in the open ground it is best planted with a mixture of your garden soil and a good quality Tree and Shrub Compost. If suitable for containers then we recommend John Innes No3 Compost or a good quality Multipurpose compost. These plants should be fed in Spring and late Summer with a good quality granular fertiliser.
