A large shrub or small tree with deep purple red foliage which is brighter when young and white flowers in the spring which are sometimes followed by purple fruits. Best grown in sun or partial shade in a moist yet well drained soil.

• When planting this shrub in the open ground it is best planted with a mixture of your garden soil and a good quality Tree and Shrub Compost. If suitable for containers then we recommend John Innes No3 Compost or a good quality Multipurpose compost. These plants should be fed in Spring and late Summer with a good quality granular fertiliser.
