Polypodium vulgare is a hardy fern that can tolerate a wide range of conditions, including dry shade, moist soil, and full sun. Polypodium vulgare has long, leathery fronds that are divided into 10 to 18 pairs of leaflets. The leaflets are dark green and have a slightly wavy margin. The underside of the leaflets is brown and has a distinctive pimply texture.

Planting : When planting in the open ground it is best planted with a mixture of your garden soil and a good quality Tree and Shrub Compost. If planting in a container then we recommend John Innes No3 Compost or a good quality Multipurpose compost with added John Innes. These plants should be fed in Spring and late Summer with a good quality granular fertiliser.
