Petunia (DBL) Glorious is a genus containing 35 species of flowering plants native to South America that are closely related to other plants in the Solanaceae family, including tobacco, cape gooseberries, tomatoes, deadly nightshades, potatoes, and chili peppers. The common flower with the same name got its name from the French, who borrowed the term Petun, which means tobacco in Tupy Guarani, from that language.
Height – 4 to 6 inches
Flower Color – Mixed (including red, white salmon rose pink, burgundy andpurple)
Bloom Time – Spring, (March to May) and summer (June to September)
Difficulty Level – Easy to grow
Planting and care
Sunlight – Most varieties prefer full sun for about 5 to 6 hours.
Watering – Water them once or twice a week during summers but water it twice in a day during extreme hot days.
Soil -This plant requires well drained soil. Soil potting mixture for this plant should generally contain 40 % cocopeat, 40 vermicompost and 20 % local garden soil
Temperature – Let them grow in cooler temperatures.
Location – keep the pot on the balcony or terrace where it gets bright and full sun for about 5 to 6 hours or more.
Ornamental Use:
It’s generally kept indoors and in the terrace area in order to beautify the place.
