Native to the Amazon rainforest, Calathea are an excellent choice for those with pets or small children as they are completely non-toxic. To keep their leaves looking their best, avoid direct sunlight and water this plant only with rainwater or distilled water, as it can be sensitive to hard water, chlorine and fluoride.
