Monarda didyma ‘Jacob Cline’ has large, showy red flower bracts on tall narrow plants. Also known as Bee Balm, it has fragrant, mildew resistant foliage. Monarda ‘Jacob Cline’ is a cultivar that is highly attractive to hummingbirds. Bee Balm makes a nice cut flower.

Monarda didyma is a perennial that is native to the eastern United States and Canada, as well as to Washington and Oregon. It is naturally found in wet meadows, bottomlands, moist open woods, thickets and other wet sites, most commonly in mountain areas.

Monarda ‘Jacob Cline’ prefers full sun to light shade and moist to wet soil including clay. It will spread via rhizomes, but is well-behaved enough to not be a problem.
