Milky Way Tree produces pure white, 3 flowers that carry a delightful and unique fragrance that we consider to be one of the best in our fragrant plant collection. Native to Central America, this shrub, or small tree, can flower throughout the year but here in the north, it is generally a summer bloomer. Shiny green leaves adorn the branching stems with flowers forming in clusters that open one or two at a time over a couple of weeks. Our plants are cutting grown rather than seed grown and that ensures early flowering in container culture. When Milky Way Tree is grown in a greenhouse, it is susceptible to edema that causes bumps on the backsides of the leaves. It is a cosmetic issue and never harms the plants.
