Rare and unusual! South African native makes two big flat leaves, and a spiky cluster of flowers between them in the winter. Flowers are yeast-scented with jam-like nectar, to attract pollination by gerbils. Dormant in summer when it should be let to dry completely. Drought-tolerant, full sun, protect from frost.
