The stems emerge purple to red before maturing to green-brown, sporting fragrant blazing orange-red flowers that bloom from spring to summer. Grows best in the south with the rootsinpart sunand moist well-drained soil. Highly mildew resistant and salt tolerant. Coral Honeysuckles areextremelyflammable.

Lonicera sempervirens is a host for theSpring Azure Butterfly and the Snowberry Clearwing Moth. The nectar attracts hummingbirds, bees, and other pollinators while the seeds attract songbirds.
