Blooming late spring through early summer, Lupine WestCountry Rachel de Thame puts on a remarkable floral show in the garden with its tall 24-36 spires of pink and white bi-colored blooms that attract butterflies and hummingbirds. To prolong the blooming season, remove spent flowers as soon as they start to fade. Deciduous, palmate leaves form a nice mound of foliage, so it makes a wonderful addition to a cottage garden or perennial bed. WestCountry lupines were hybridized in the UK and have won many awards at the Chelsea Flower Show.
