Named for Roman Catholic church officials, who wear deep scarlet robes. Striking and sculptural blooms grow on 8″ flower spikes in summer and fall. Grows up to 6 feet, big draw for hummingbirds! Sun to shade, likes soil to be kept moist. Was used medicinally by Native Peoples, but note, all parts of plants are toxic.
