Liatris Spicata is a tall plant, reaching heights of 2-6 feet. It has narrow, grass-like leaves that are arranged in whorls up the stem. The flowers are borne in a dense spike at the top of the plant. It prefers full sun and well-drained soil. It is drought-tolerant once established. Deer-resistant and a good choice for attracting butterflies and other pollinators to your garden.

Planting: When planting this perennial in the open ground it is best planted with a mixture of your garden soil and a good quality Tree and Shrub Compost. If planting in a container then we recommend John Innes No3 Compost or a good quality Multipurpose compost. These plants should be fed in Spring and late Summer with a good quality granular fertiliser.
