Lavender vera (also known as Dutch lavender) is a hardy herbaceous perennial plant with an aromatic chunky grey leaves and is widely used in food flavouring or decorating flower borders and tubs. It grows up to 1m in height and thrives best in full sun, sheltered south facing position in a well-drained fertile soil. Purple flower spikes emerge in July and lasts till late September and is also bees and butterflies friendly.

When grown in containers we recommend a good quality multipurpose compost is used. Plants should be fed during the growing season with a liquid feed as per the manufacturers instructions.
