Iris germanica ‘Apricot Silk’ has light yellow-orange-pinkish standards with slightly darker falls and tangerine orange beards. Long sword-like foliage grows tall in a fan-like manner around the blooms. With blueish-green leaves, the contrast of apricot blooms has a striking effect in midspring. This iris is a rebloomer and can bloom again later in the year!
This bearded iris gets between 22 and 24 inches tall and works great in borders especially in front of dark green foliage. We would recommend planting 24 inches apart. Iris germanica ‘Apricot Silk’ prefers full sun and well draining soil. Remove the spent flowers after blooming and cut back the leaves to about 6 inches above the soil line in the late fall.
