• The leaves of borage are a good source of vitamins A and C, as well as potassium. They have a mild, cucumber-like flavor and can be used in salads, soups, and stews. The flowers of borage are edible and have a sweet, honey-like flavor. They can be used to decorate desserts, cocktails, and ice cream. The seeds of borage are a good source of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), an omega-6 fatty acid that has been shown to have a number of health benefits, including reducing inflammation and improving skin health.

Planting : When planting in the open ground it is best planted with a mixture of your garden soil and a good quality tree and shrub compost.If planting in a container we recommend a good quality multi purpose compost with added John Innesto be used. These plants should be fed in spring and late summerwith a good quality fertiliser.
