Ficus ‘Golden King’ is a fuss-free variegated indoor tree with colourful narrow leaf margins of gold and an elegant silver-green centre. Lower light requirements than other variegated varieties but higher than the green varieties like Danielle & Evergreen so are a happy medium for a moderately bright room.
Ideal forbeginner plant keepers or beyond.
Light Requirements: Bright Indirect Light – partial full sun.
Moisture & Soil Requirements: Prefers evenly moist soil with good drainage in warm seasons – never soggy soil. Relatively thirsty but adaptable for most conditions
Growth & Nutrients:Tree / shrub in shape.Suits medium-larger apartments or homes and large gardens away from water pipes due to their aggressive root system. Very easy to shape and prune, common topiary and bonsai species. Feed with a general-purpose fertiliser for containers from the start of spring each year to autumn when growth slows down.
Temperature, Humidity & Ambient requirements: Prefers warm, humid environments inside and adaptable for nearly any situation. Grows well outdoors in frost-free Northern NZ.
Toxicity: Toxic to pets and people. Don’t let anyone or anything eat this. Avoid skin contact with sticky white sap when pruning.
