Geum ‘Lady Stratheden’ has semi-double petals in a bright, golden-yellow color that blooms from late spring into summer and are held above mounds of soft green lobed leaves. The blooms are typically one inch wide. Commonly known as Rose of the Rockery or Avens this flowering beauty prefers full sun to partial shade and evenly moist, well-drained soil. Deadheading will promote continued flowering throughout the summer.
Geum ‘Lady Stratheden’ tends to have evergreen leaves in milder climates, but those can lose their evergreen quality in cold winters conditions. This plant will also appreciate afternoon shade in hotter, sunnier areas. The plant has a clump forming habit and should be divided every couple of years to prevent the plant from becoming bare in the center. The plant is deer resistant and attractive to pollinators making it a great addition to any garden.
