At our seed farm, the plush, pink, full double blooms of this self-sowing annual garner a lot of attention. Its ruffled pink flower heads reach 4″ across, and after flowering, the seed pods can be used in dried arrangements. This family heirloom from Juliana Beiwel was first sown in Diane Ott Whealys garden at Seed Savers Exchanges Heritage Farm in the 1990s, where it blooms between late spring and summer.All plant parts except the seeds are toxic.
