A complete self cleaning, self maintaining bioactive vivarium kit for a Fire Skink. These burrowing, interesting lizards make excellent beginner skinks. While these skinks can be quite shy they typically have a very calm demeanor and enjoy a deep, dense substrate that allows them to create a network of tunnels and burrows. Not only will this make them feel more secure, but it will help with shedding, respiration and hydration. This allows them to retain all of their natural burrows and tunnels, which instinctively, is what they love to do in the wild.

It’s imperative when keeping this species that multiple thermo-gradients are available and that is achieved by utilizing deep, well draining substrate. Humidity spikes throughout the day with dry periods are necessary. These animals will thrive if kept in a large habitat and small habitats should only be considered for young specimens.

Strong plants that can be uprooted and trampled are included, as are heavier pieces of wood and rocks to facilitate a more natural environment that they are accustomed to. It is not recommended to use delicate items with this species due to their destructive nature.
