Eucomis comosa ‘Safari Adventure’ has rounded mounds of glossy, wavy, finely serrated, strap-like leaves of olive-green that emerge with a wine-colored blush. Tall stalks of dense, deep rosy purple buds open up to cream and deep rose purple cylindrical bloom clusters in late summer. ‘Safari Adventure’s bi-colored blooms contrast well with its purple buds. Eucomis are also known as Pineapple Lily because the top of the inflorescence looks very much like a pineapple.

Eucomis comosa ‘Safari Adventure’ prefers full sun to part shade and average to fertile, well-drained soil. This plant may be tender so winter protection is recommended in colder areas. It is nice in a container as well as in the garden.
