Eryngium bromeliifolium (agavifolium) has broad, sword-shaped, sharply toothed, glossy, green basal leaves that can reach 16″ long. Also known as Agave Leaved Sea Holly, its greenish white flowers are borne on leafless stems up to 60″ tall. The blooms of Eryngium bromeliifolium are attractive to bees and nice for drying. A native of South America, this uncommon perennial is usually evergreen and makes a nice specimen for winter containers or the landscape.

Eryngium bromeliifolium prefers average to moist, well-drained, fertile soil but is tolerant of clay. It is drought tolerant once established.
