• Dryopteris Cristata The King is a type of fern that is known for its large, crested fronds. It is a cultivar of the native male fern, Dryopteris affinis, and is often referred to as the “king of the male ferns.”
• Dryopteris Cristata The King is a semi-evergreen fern, meaning that it will keep its leaves for most of the year. However, the leaves will turn brown and die back in the winter.

Planting : When planting in the open ground it is best planted with a mixture of your garden soil and a good quality Tree and Shrub Compost. If planting in a container then we recommend John Innes No3 Compost or a good quality Multipurpose compost with added John Innes. These plants should be fed in Spring and late Summer with a good quality granular fertiliser.
