A densely-branching, broadly pyramidal form with a strong central leader, this Corylus has copper bark dramatically exfoliating to cream, much as a river birch, and lovely, long catkins draping the then leafless tree. This isone for the many looking for amid-size tree, handsomely regular, pink-tinged in spring and brilliant gold in fall, interesting in winter with its papery bark, and marvelous for shadean all-season tree! From the mountain valley forests of Western China, it is as yet uncommon, only introduced in 1996. 2530′ T x 1525′ W, disease-resistant.
