Choisya ternata ‘Sundance’ is a unique and well-known plant that will add a touch of beauty to any garden. With its small clusters of white flowers and glossy, golden leaves that remain all year round, this evergreen shrub is a must-have for any border or small hedge. Supplied in either a 9cm pot or 2 Litre pot, please select from the drop down menu when ordering. Prune Choisya in late spring after flowering to maintain shape. Flowering times are traditionally spring but some varieties will have another flowering in late autumn. Best in semi-shade but will tolerate full sun. Responds well to general feeding and mulching, best in moist soil but does not like to be too wet so ensure good drainage.

Choisya is a small genus of plants with just seven species, all of which are evergreen. Originally from Mexico and south west USA, the most famous species, ternata, was introduced in 1825. C.ternata is commonly known as Mexican Orange Blossom due to its sweetly scented flowers. The most interesting varieties have come from cultivation in the form of breeding and sports (naturally occurring shoots with a different colour or variegation).

The first of these was raised in 1982 by Peter Moore and was Choisya Aztec Pearl, a nice variety with dissected leaves. He also introduced C.White Dazzler, C.Goldfingers & C.Apple Blossom, the latter being a very impressive introduction with pink flowers.
