Chives are a hardy herbaceous perennial plant with aromatic hollow and tubular grass like leaves, widely used for variety of dishes. It grows up to 30-50cm in height and thrives best in sunny or partial shade areas in fertile, moist but well-drained soil. Chives has a mass of purple colour star-shape flowers which looks like a bauble and is also bee friendly.

When grown in containers we recommend a good quality multipurpose compost is used. Plants should be fed during the growing season with a liquid feed as per the manufacturers instructions.
