Growing Advice: Buddleja can suffer from a few problems, but these are easily remedied, mostly by pruning. It is important to prune established plants by a third in October/November to loosely shape the shrub. Then, in late March/April, a more severe pruning can be done to promote healthy growth. This type of pruning will not affect flowering and can even improve it. Another common issue is eelworm, which can be treated by cutting out affected branches or shoots and discarding them away from the garden.
