Large evergreen shrub with narrow, dark, glossy emerald foliage and bright tumeric-orange flowers in late spring to early summer. Blooms best in full sun.

Berberis linearifolia has larger flowers with a deeper color than the oft-compared Berberis darwinii. ‘Orange King’ was selected for its especially large flowers.
