Robust 8″ dissected leaves have pink veins and are crablike in shape, or like a very large bird’s foot (as the name might suggest). Pretty white flowers are secreted amongst the leaves July September. From around 5,000′ elevation in the Southwest Chinese provinces, it is much hardier than one would guess, but it would still love a nice blanket of mulch for our Oregon winters since its native latitude is ca. 30 deg.
