This distinctive, strap-leaf Anthurium species, sometimes called the Laceleaf Anthurium, is appreciated by collectors for its exceptional elongated, lance-shaped, and glossy foliage with prominent parallel venation, creating an elegant and architectural tropical presence. It is generally a compact plant, making it ideal for smaller spaces.

  • Light: Bright, indirect light is best. Avoid direct sun exposure, which can scorch the leaves. Consistent filtered lighting promotes healthy growth and vibrant coloration.
  • Temperature: 64-79F (18-26C). Avoid temperatures below 60F (16C), as well as cold drafts and sudden temperature changes. Good air circulation is important.
  • Humidity: 60-80% with excellent air movement. This plant flourishes in high humidity environments. To achieve this indoors, use a humidifier, a pebble tray, or group it with other plants.
  • Watering: Allow the top surface of the potting mix to dry before watering again. Do not let the plant sit in soggy soil.

Additional Notes

Like all Anthurium species, it produces a small spike of tiny flowers (spadix) subtended by a leaf-like bract (spathe), though this species is primarily grown for its dramatic foliage.
