The botanical name of this succulent is *Aloe descoingsii*. The synonym *Guillauminia descoingsii* is often used. In German, it is known as *Aloe*. The succulent belongs to the genus *Aloe*, which is classified in the family Asphodelaceae. This succulent is native to Madagascar.
Aloe descoingsii is green and grows in a rosette shape. The flower is orange, tubular, and arranged in clusters. It blooms between June and August. You will receive a plant in a 6cm pot, with a height of approximately 12cm including the pot. The plant can reach a height of 10cm. Caring for Aloe descoingsii is relatively easy. A mixture of cactus and succulent soil is suitable as a substrate. Aloe descoingsii does not tolerate waterlogging, so ensure good drainage and allow the substrate to dry out before watering again. Generally, this succulent tolerates less water rather than too much. Fertilizing is necessary every three to four weeks.
This succulent needs a bright to semi-shaded location. The optimal temperature is between 20C and 30C. *Aloe descoingsii* can spend the summer outdoors after being gradually acclimated to direct sunlight. In winter, the temperature should be around 15C. Furthermore, fertilizing is stopped and watering is reduced. However, the plant is not suitable for the garden.
The leaf bark of the Aloe descoingsii contains a poisonous sap, and we cannot guarantee its compatibility with animals.
