Deeply cut, spiny dark green leaves (the leaves are those on Corinthian capitals) arch dramatically as a backdrop to huge 5′ spikes of pure white flowers hooded in mauve. Long-lasting as a cut flower, you can sneak up on it in June-August. Not for the faint of heart, this is one bold plant!
