Alocasia portei, also known as ‘Malaysian Monster’, is the largest known elephant ear species. This species leaves can easily grow over 3-4′ in length! The foliage is deeply lobed and is quite eye catching.

This plant can make a great indoor plant as it will likely not reach the size that it’s known for outdoors, if it’s inside of your home.

Alocasia portei care:

This Alocasia plant prefers a well draining soil that is rich in organic matter. Allow the soil to dry out almost completely before watering, taking care to not allow your elephant ear to remain in excess water for an extended period. Provide your Alocasia portei with plenty of bright indirect light.
