Alocasia ‘New Guinea Gold’ produces yellow variegated leaves that appear to have had paint thrown at them! The new leaves generally produce yellow speckled variegation. The variegation on this elephant ear is similar to Philodendron ‘Paraiso Verde’, in that it really comes out with ample warmth and very bright indirect light. You’ll find that the plant will produce green leaves during the cooler months, but have no fear … it will return!
This Alocasia can grow up to 10-15′ in their natural habitat, though as an indoor plant you will find that they won’t grow much taller than 5′.
Alocasia ‘New Guinea Gold’ care:
This plant prefers a well draining soil rich in organic matter. Allow your new plant to dry out between watering.
