Native to:
Native to the forest floors of Central and South America, where it grows in moist, shaded river valleys. Leaves emerge glossy and dark green, lanceolate in shape, forming compact clumps. Flowering spathes rise above the foliage in spring through autumn, scented and white to creamgreen
Water:
Keep the potting mix moist but never saturated; allow the top third of the potting mix to dry slightly between waterings. The plant will droop gently when thirsty and quickly recover after watering. Overwatering can cause root rot, so ensure the pot has good drainage and that excess water does not remain at the base.
Light:
Provide bright, filtered light, ideal is an east, northeast or northwestfacing window. Avoid direct sunlight, especially from southfacing windows, which can scorch leaves. In lower light levels it will survive but may flower less.
Humidity:
Prefers moderate to high humidity. In a home setting, misting occasionally or positioning on a pebble tray of water helps. Bathrooms or kitchens offer ideal humidity. If humidity exceeds about 70%, suggesting this cultivar might suit a terrarium settingbut because it can reach up to 1m, terrariums are suitable only if space allows.
Temperature:
Thrive in typical indoor UK temperatures of roughly1527C. Avoid draughts and cold airflows; temperatures below around1013C can cause damage. Stay above 15C as a minimum for healthy growth
