Japanese Trapdoor Snail

The Japanese Trapdoor Snail is a hardworking addition to any freshwater aquarium or pond. Known for its ability to help keep tanks clean, the Japanese Trapdoor snail feeds on algae, uneaten food, and organic debris. Its unique “trapdoor” feature (a small plate that closes its shell) is an extra layer of protection, keeping it safe from potential predators. With a smooth, spiral shell that varies in shades of brown, black, and green, these snails are as beautiful as they are useful.

Japanese Trapdoor Snails are easy to care for and thrive in a wide range of water conditions. Theyre great for beginner aquarists and experienced hobbyists alike. Japanese Trapdoor snails are live-bearing, rather than egg layers.

Please note: During shipping, snails sometimes go into a hibernation-like state and may not become fully active for up to a week once acclimated to your aquarium.
