Classic chicory, highly uniform in both plant habit and maturity, upright full stems are gorgeous with exceptional flavor. The crunchy stems of the puntarelle (“little point” leaves) appear as sprouts with dandelion shaped leaves and are pleasantly bitter and tender, perfect for fresh eating, suitable to the name, which means “green flame”.
