Leycesteria Formosa Purple Rain is a vigorous, upright shrub that is known for its long, pendulous clusters of white flowers. The flowers are followed by dark purple berries. The plant blooms from late summer to early autumn. Leycesteria Formosa Purple Rain is a relatively easy plant to grow. It prefers full sun to partial shade and moist, well-drained soil.

Planting : When planting in the open ground it is best planted with a mixture of your garden soil and a good quality Tree and Shrub Compost. If planting in a container then we recommend John Innes No3 Compost or a good quality Multipurpose compost with added John Innes. These plants should be fed in Spring and late Summer with a good quality granular fertiliser.
