BetterGrow Clay Pebbles Medium-grade pebbles (816 mm) are produced from clay which is heated to a very high temperature to produce lightweight, hard pebbles. They absorb water and then slowly release it making them perfect for humidity trays or for a drainage layer in terrariums.

Perlite is created by crushing and heating volcanic rock until it expands. This lightweight material is PH neutral and is usually added to soil mixes to increase aeration, prevent compaction and promote root growth , but can also be used as a stand-alone substrate for root cuttings and propagations.
