Showy clusters of 2.5 blue flowers emerge on the tips of this Costa Rican climber throughout the summer months. Its a strong, vigorous vine that can be grown on a trellis or stake. During the summer blooming season, it puts on a tremendous floral show. Wintertime in the northeast brings it into a dormancy where it can defoliate but it springs back into growth as the days get longer. The leaves and stems have thorns on them, so handle with care, as it likes to grab onto everything it touches. Formerly called Giant Potato Vine.
